The Phantom of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
You’ve heard of the Phantom of the Opera, but you may not know we had our very own otherworldly organist right here in Milwaukee at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
The true nature of our phantom is still unknown. In 1892, someone or something was sneaking in at midnight to play the pipe organ, according to the following Milwaukee Sentinel article from December 7th of that year. Was it a musical ghost, a naughty choir boy, or just some overly ambitious mice running across the organ keys? Read the following long-winded, but unexpectedly hilarious article and come to your own conclusion.

We are curious to know if present-day-parishioners have ever heard this tale. If you are a church member or neighbor and know of this or any other more current ghost stories about St. Paul’s, please contact Allison Jornlin at 414-807-7862 or info@milwaukeeghosts.com.
